Bowhead, an information technology and services company based in Alaska, is in search of a business development director who will be tasked with generating brand awareness in the local market and identifying business development opportunities with military customers.
The business development director is expected to identify and capture business opportunities in systems engineering, IT and integrated logistics. The selected candidate will work closely with senior management and external partners to develop and implement strategies to successfully capture business opportunities, Bowhead posted on LinkedIn.
The role also entails leading the company’s capture team during the development of proposal responses, which involves collaborating with subject matter experts and delving into matters like contracts, pricing and talent acquisition.
Among other things, the business development director will manage the operating budget for approved capture strategies. He or she will be granted autonomy in managing potential contracts from inception to award.
The full-time, mid-senior level role also requires engagement with government customers and industry partners to help the company build strong relationships and develop tailored solutions for customers.
Bowhead is looking for candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and operations / project management experience or business development experience in a government setting. The ideal candidate must also have proposal writing and review experience, as well as a proven record of collaborating with multiple customer levels.
Bowhead is interested in candidates with advanced intelligence gathering skills, leadership in cost proposal development and the ability to coordinate with matrixed resources to develop requests for information and sources sought responses.
